    Hi,

I was a the Premier Show and attended the Lomi-Lomi. The demonstration was FABULOUS.

However Sothy's didn't get their act together. There were well over 100 of us for the class - they didn't have enought registration forms (needed about 75 more). Their Audio/Visual equipment - couldn't get that to work.

The professional (who actually did the demonstration) saved their bacon. Realizing there was a real SNAFU she stepped it up and gave the demonstration FOUR times so all of us could see.

The Sothy's folks promised us they would follow up and send us a video. Today is July 24th it has been 6 weeks - still no follow-up. How sad

I think the Premiere show was definitely an afterthought for Sothys. They didn't have a display on the tradeshow floor so I think the staff didn't prepare very well. The trainer was excellent of course. But I highly doubt Sothys will get any new accounts from it unfortunately for them.

    Hi !!

I called about the oncology class yesterday--I am seriously considering it--but money is tight--it is dead here--how is your business ? Did you take the oncology class ? Do you know anyone else e=who has ?

Also--I couldn't make the Premiere show--tell me a bit about the LomiLomi class--I looked it up on the internet--do they have a facial massage class only ? or is it geared to mainly massage therapists ?

    Thanks!

I have not taken the oncology class. I just found it online but it does look really great. I am a part time newbie so I am slow but that may have nothing to do with the economyimage. I think being summer and all people are still into waxing but don't have as much money for facials and such.

The lomi lomi massage class at the Premiere show was a facial massage protocol for estheticians. I did a search online as well to see if I could find any videos but I have only found ones for full body. Lomi lomi is basically a hawaiian technique that uses the forearms a lot as well as the hands and fingers. I think lomi lomi means "loving touch" or something like that. Sothys emailed me the protocol in Word format if you would like me to email it to you. It may be hard to visualize but may give you an idea.

    Are you in Florida?

professionalskineducation.com is for The Skincare Therapy Center. The address on their webpage is 1029 South Church St, Burlington NC 27215. Phone 336-455-4340. They have a class coming up in August for oncology esthetics for $480. I hope that helps!

My friend Marlene who owns Faces, is in Vegas at the convention. I'll talk to her when she gets back. I'll ask her if she has any openings. I would work for her in a heartbeat if I lived closer...she is the BEST!

Vero is very slow!! This town is way too seasonal for me. I've only lived here a few years. It's a beautiful place with gorgeous beaches, but when summer rolls around, this place dies. I'm thinking about moving to the Tallahassee area and I'm actively looking for a job there now. Where are you working?

Thanks for your help! Currently my full time job is at a kitchen and bath showroom as an office manager ;( For skin care, I fill in for a woman who owns a small spa when she has promotions and special events. It is very sporatic and I would like to find something more consistant. Plus, the owner does not have a receptionist and is not often at the spa herself. Many times clients call complaining that they can't get in touch with anyone and sometimes she "forgets" to call people back, or loses their number or whatever. So, needless to say, I would like to find a spa that is more professional image.

Good luck with your job search!
